"Teaching You to Train Your Dog"
Tip Top Workshops
Tip Top offers various workshops once a month on Saturdays. They are held on the Heath Extension (park at the junction of Ingram Avenue and
Wildwood Road NW11).
Topics are:
Loose Lead Walking,
Recall (including use of a whistle) and
Rally - O Tip Top Style
Each workshop lasts an hour long and the number of places is strictly limited and is on a first come first served basis. Please phone or email us for more information.
RecallRecall is one of the most important commands for you to teach your dog and for your dog to obey – it can save his life. We will show you how to improve his recall if you are having problems with it by going back to basics. We will also teach you how to get your dog to respond to not just your voice but also a whistle. A good recall will also improve the way you feel about your dog and will enhance the relationship between you both. |
Loose lead walkingA dog that is pulling you around from pillar to post is not a pleasure to be with. Our loose lead walking technique is based on Turid Rugaas’ method. There is no yanking on your dogs neck, no painful equipment to injure your dogs neck – it is a kind, positive and effective method to get your dog to walk nicely on a loose lead. All it takes is the know-how and then the practice. |
Rally - O Tip Top StyleRally-O is a fun activity combining elements of obedience and agility – much more relaxed than precision competitive obedience – Rally-O focuses on attitude and enthusiasm. You are allowed to talk to and praise your dog in the Rally-O ring. The exercises and equipment involved in the course will build your skills as a handler and increase your dog’s repertoire of behaviours. A dog and handler team navigate a course following numbered signs indicating different exercises to perform at each station. Dogs love sports and you will too! |
