About Private Training

At Tip Top Dog School we offer private one to one lessons or private group lessons (maximum 4 - you and up to 3 of your friends in a group) either in your home or on Hampstead Heath.Topics covered can include Puppy Raising, Obedience Training, Manners Training, Problem Behaviours, Behavioural Modification and much more.

Benefits of In-Home Private Lessons:

There are many benefits to private instruction, which include:

• Lessons are structured to suit the individual needs of you and your dog
• Appointments can be made to fit in around your schedule
• Dedicated one on one training or problem solving
• Both you and your dog learn at your own pace
• Some dogs are not suited to class situations due to fear, hyperactivity, aggression etc
• Ideal for dogs with behavioural issues such as Separation Anxiety, House-Soiling, Resource Guarding etc that are beyond the scope of a general class curriculum
• Ideal if you are uncomfortable about participating in a class environment
• Your dog can concentrate on learning in an environment he/she is comfortable in, where there are fewer distractions
• If your dog is uncomfortable in a group training situation he will be unable to concentrate and therefore will not learn
• Ideal if you want to speed up the learning process in your dog. Many students begin with private lessons and enrol in classes shortly thereafter.

Training should be fun for both you and your dog so Tip Top Dog School uses only Positive Reinforcement Methods. Reward based training is an effective and easy to follow technique based on the sound scientific principles of learning theory. Your dog will learn in a positive, nurturing environment.
